Where are you located?

  

The Groom Garage salon is located in Ashtead, on Ottway‘s Lane. 

I‘ve converted my garage into a bespoke grooming salon, which is at the front of my property, separate to the main house.

Parking is available on the driveway. 

How can I book an appointment?

I may be unable to answer the phone at times. 

The easiest way to book is online. 

You’re also welcome to send me a text, email, or leave a voicemail — I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

Can you hold my dog before or after their appointment?

Unfortunately, I’m unable to keep dogs longer than their allocated grooming time. 

I offer a one to one grooming service, please can you ensure you drop off and collect your dog at the agreed times — this helps me stay on schedule and keeps things stress-free for all the dogs in my care.

What if I arrive early for my appointment?

I aim to be at the salon about 10 minutes before each appointment, but if you arrive early, I may still be on my way. I’ll always be there by your booked time. 


Please note there are no toilet facilities on-site. If the door is closed and the salon is empty, I’ll be ready for you at your scheduled time.


I have a camera sensor that alerts me when you arrive, so there’s no need to knock on the main house. I’ve also installed a door bell which chimes inside, press this if I haven’t seen you please. 


What happens if I’m running late or need to cancel?

  

If you’re running late, please can you let me know as soon as possible. 

Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a small fee, as I work by appointment only and no shows will result in a £20 deposit when booking in again. 

How long will you hold an appointment after a cancellation?

If I contact you about a cancellation slot, I’ll normally wait around one hour for a reply. If I don’t hear back, the appointment will be released online and other clients are welcome to book it. This helps keep my schedule running smoothly and gives everyone a fair chance.

Can I stay with my dog during the groom?

For safety and to help your dog relax, I ask that owners do not stay during the grooming session. Most dogs are calmer once their owner has left, and this helps me work efficiently, safely and please note my insurance does not cover, owners staying. 

How long will the grooming take?

Grooming times vary depending on your dog’s breed, coat condition, and behaviour. 

Roughly:

  • Bath & tidy: 1–1.5 hours
  • Full groom: 1.5–2.5 hours
  • Full Groom two dogs: 3-5 hours
  • Puppy intro session: 1hr

I’ll text you 10-15 minutes before your dog is ready for pickup, please arrive promptly. 

How often should my dog be groomed?

Most dogs do best with grooming every 6–8 weeks, depending on coat type and lifestyle. I can recommend a schedule tailored to your dog.

Do you groom nervous or rescue dogs?

Yes! I take a gentle, patient approach and allow extra time if needed. Please let me know in advance if your dog is anxious or has any triggers so I can make them comfortable.

What if my dog’s coat is very matted?

If your dog is heavily matted, I may need to do a short haircut for their comfort and safety. I’ll always discuss this before starting the groom, matting adds an extra of £5-£10, dependent on the severity, as this sadly causes my blades to go blunt quicker. 

Do you send reminders?

Yes, if you have booked your appointment on the website— you’ll get an automatic email or text reminder 24 hours before your appointment, from GoDaddy- website provider.

If we have booked in person or via text you may not receive a reminder, please keep a record in your calendar, just incase as I do not phone to remind people for appointments. thank you for understanding. 

What is my preferred method of contact for bookings?

The easiest way to book is in person at the end of your dog’s groom, or you more than welcome to book a few ahead via my book online section. 

I don’t always answer phone calls, as the grooming salon can be noisy and I like to give each pup my full attention while they’re being groomed. I also don’t have reception staff answering the phone like a normal salon as I offer a one to one service.

Please send me a text with your dogs breed and your name and I will message back as soon as I can.
